Stockholm's most mobile art gallery

There is a box in our art gallery.

It is heavy and uncomfortable to carry. It seems difficult to fill it with something. When you pull the seat backwards it rattles so you could think something is broken.

We do not know what to do with it.

A more concrete society

The campaign, A more concrete society took place near the Sergel torg in Stockholm during two days in August 2009. Our lobby organization, Kanslibyrån, argued that a changing and often chaotic society requires more directives and guidelines. We want more rules and recommendations as help and guidance in our everyday life. With simple and understandable prohibitions, we wanted to fix the lack of clarity and create a safe and more controlled society.

In the context of A more concrete society, we launched a archive of rules and prohibitions, the aim is to identify new rules, prohibitions and recommendations that are important for a sustainable society.

With the campaign the small rules was reinforced and articulated, and the purpose was to expand the existing regulatory framework to be able to include all everyday situations. The utopia of A more concrete society was a society where everything can be controlled, where every interaction and action is full of restrictions, and all norms and conventions are written down.
